It seems unfair to me that this law even exist. If anything, New York City is the place where it SHOULD be allowed. You never know the dangers lurking behind corners as you’re walking home alone. Not to mention all the crazies in the subway stations. I’m not interested in guns for protection, but I’d sure like to have something that’s just as effective. And I don’t think one can properly protect themselves with some silly mace spray.

Please don’t anyone give me some answer about how if stun guns were allowed, everyone would have one and start hurting everybody with them. People can hurt others with ANYTHING.
By the way, I’m a girl….so trying to fight the person or knocking them off isn’t exactly easy if youre 5′6 and 110lbs.

why do the stupid british government insist on making stun guns illegal….I would like to genuinly buy one for self defence, but i can’t as they are illegal….and if you get caught you face the same punishment as someone walking down the street with a loaded gun!…..and also, surely the teenagers of britain who go around stabbing each other would prefer to harmlessly electrocute each other rather than stabbing each other with huge knives???

Old Fuzz: you’ve made a good point. The device could just as easily be used by an attacker as for defense and that’s probably why some states/cities have banned them altogether.

I just bought a 400,000 k stun gun. I am probably going to win the idiot of the week award, but I was thinking about using it on myself before I carried it with me while walking and potentially used it on someone else, but before I stun myself I thought I should find out how much people say it hurts. Please share your knowledge, insights, tips, advice, and thoughts on stun guns and anything associated with stun guns.
