A Taser Gun Can Be So Much Fun

January 13th, 2010 admin No comments

Modern day self defense has evolved from lethal baseball bats and 9MM handguns to non-lethal Pepper Spray and Taser Guns. Some people say that a Taser is not non-lethal, but more than 99.99% of the time they do not cause death or any serious medical injury. It is a fact that Taser has been sued many times for causing death and has not lost in court, but think of all the lives they saved by replacing the use of police handguns time and time again. If the Taser Gun would not have been available an officer may have needed to resort to using a much more lethal firearm to stop an aggressor.

I am a dealer of Taser’s products and recently attended a conference that included some very hands on Taser training. An officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department informed the crowd of about 175 of the details between different available Tasers. In case you are not aware of how this device works, let me fill you in. A Taser deploys two probes when fired that shoot out up to 15 feet and either attach to clothing or embed themselves in the skin. If operated correctly and the probes are more than 6 inches apart, the assailant will lose control of muscles and fall to the ground helpless. The unit sends out 50,000 volts that can last anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds depending on the model Taser Gun used. The model we were speaking about was the Taser C2. When the C2 is fired it continuously sends the 50,000 volts into the assailant until either the 30 seconds is up or the unit is turned off.

The demonstrating officer asked if there were any volunteers to be shocked by the Taser and surprisingly there were quite a few volunteers. I declined to be a participant in this but had no problem watching nearly 15 others get the crap shocked out of them. One after another, people went up and let the officer know how long they wanted to be Tased. The first was fairly disappointing at only 3 seconds. It wasn’t even enough time to take him to the ground, but he made it very clear in his ****** expressions that it was rather unpleasant. The next decided to be brave and went for 5 seconds. After about 3 seconds I heard a loud scream and “stop, stop, stop” then officer stopped. I watched many give it a try and many fall to the ground helpless. About half the shocked guinea pigs screamed and asked to stop before the time they specified ahead of time was up. This time ranged from 5 to 10 seconds. Only one person impressed me when he said 8 seconds and made it through. I was thinking “no way”. This individual named Steve made it through all 8 seconds and took it like a man. It would be hard to imagine taking a full 30 second C2 Taser Gun shot and perhaps next year I will give it a try myself.

The Taser Gun is a very effective, affordable and safe method of self defense. In today’s violent world you should arm yourself to stay safe. Whether you choice of self defense devices are a Taser, pepper spray or stun gun you will have an unexpected advantage if attacked and be given the chance to escape with your life and unharmed.

How a Stun Gun Can Help You

December 6th, 2009 admin No comments
Richard Armen asked:

Self defense products like stun guns are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people realize that they must be prepared to defend themselves against violent situations like muggings, rape, or burglaries. Before purchasing any self defense device, make sure it is legal to carry in your area. Before purchasing a stun gun, also be sure that you know what exactly it is and how to use it. After all, it does no good to purchase a self defense device if you would be too afraid to use it when the time comes.

Stun guns are handheld, battery operated devices, usually with a 9 volt battery. They are shaped roughly like a cell phone or flashlight. When pressed against your attacker’s skin, it sends a jolt of electricity through them, disabling them immediately but without long-lasting effects. In just a few seconds, your attacker will lose his balance and fall to the ground, where he will be unable to move his muscles for five to ten minutes, plenty of time for you to escape the situation. Though they seem like they would be lethal due to their voltage, sometimes up to 2.5 million volts, the amperage is low, so they do not cause permanent damage.

They are very effective, as long as they are used correctly. Luckily, it is pretty easy to use a stun gun. There are two prongs at the end of the device. By pressing the two prongs against your attacker and pressing the button on the other end, the electrical current will pass through the prongs and into your attacker’s body.

The electrical current will pass through clothing, so you need not worry about directly contacting the skin. Still, there are some parts of the body that are better to contact than others, if you want maximum effectiveness. Aim for the rib cage, upper hips, and shoulders. In fact, anywhere on the torso should fully disable your attacker. If you contact only an arm or leg, there is a possibility that the electric charge will only disable that limb, rather than the attacker’s full body.

Try to keep the prongs against the attacker for 4-5 seconds. This can feel like forever when you’re being attacked, but it’s your best chance to be sure your attacker goes down and stays down. The higher the voltage, the less time required. High voltage stun guns may only require 2-3 seconds, to fully disable the target. Don’t worry about the assailant touching you while the stun gun is applied; the electric current will not pass to you. Once the stun gun is no longer pressed against the attacker, stop pressing the button. Using your stun gun in the air for long periods of time may damage it.

Even without actually using the stun gun against your attacker, it may be effective at stopping the attack. Hold it up and once activated, the crackling noise and blue sparks may be enough to keep the attacker at bay. However, be prepared for the attacker to come at you despite this display; remember that they may be armed, and they are looking for a fight.

Personal Protection- Taser Gun

Ron Mcbride asked:

If you watch the news everyday you have probably noticed that it is filled with people who are victims of attacks. This is one of the biggest reasons why citizens are seeking methods of personal protection. If you are looking for an effective way to defend yourself, a taser is a good option.

A taser gun works by sending a force of electrical shock through an assailant’s body rendering them incapable of movement. This occurs because pulsating electrodes disrupt the communication between your brain and muscles. The taser is a non-lethal protection tool that will not kill your assailant and it is also safe for you and any bystanders. Because of this taser guns have become increasingly popular amongst law enforcement officers as a safer alternative to brute force.

You could compare taser guns to stun guns because they both use an electrical current, however, a taser gun as a big advantage over the stun gun when it comes to range. A stun gun requires you to apply the tool directly to your assailant’s body, where a taser gun can be used from several feet away. The distance changes depending on the model you buy, but the average is about 25 feet.

The taser gun works by shooting small electrodes at the assailant, connecting the assailant and the gun through metal wires. The guns have improved over the years from the electrodes having to be embedded in the skin to now modern taser guns only have to make contact and are able to deliver the charge through protective clothing.

If you are looking for a great personal protection device tasers are an excellent option. Any citizen, regardless of ability or strength is able to operate the gun and it is easy to use, safe, and effective. The gun also helps you protect yourself before you are in a situation that could be life threatening by allowing you to stop an attack 25 feet away. Once you have shot the assailant with the electrodes each trigger pull sends 50,000 volt charges for five seconds into the assailant’s body, one shock is usually enough to keep a full grown man down on the ground while you get to safety.

When looking for information or to purchase a taser gun it is very important that you seek a reputable merchant. A taser gun is a great way to improve your personal protection and you should consider buying one today.

Protecting yourself With a Stun Gun

July 29th, 2009 admin No comments
Every responsible person should consider ways to ensure their personal safety. As protection becomes a growing concern, the variety of self defense tools and methods available is on the rise. Although any effort to protect yourself is commendable, some options are more effective than others. Stun guns are an easy to use, reliable, and safe tool of self defense.

Until put in the situation, no one can know how they will respond to a threat to their personal safety. Simplicity of use will guarantee that you are able to protect yourself no matter your emotional state or circumstances. A stun gun requires minimal pressure on the trigger and only a short period of contact with the attacker. This ensures that regardless of the situation, if you are injured, confused, or otherwise incapacitated, you will be able stop the attack. In addition, because stun guns are easy to use and require no personal strength they are effective regardless of the user’s age or personal level of strength.

Unlike other methods of self defense, a stun gun does not leave its user guessing if it will work. The simplicity of its concept ensures reliability each and every time it is put into use. A stun gun sends a voltage of electricity through the attacker’s body that impedes their muscles’ function. This renders them immobile and affords the victim time to get to safety. This tool will have the desired effect regardless of the attacker’s size or the body part that it comes in contact with.

In addition to ease of use and reliability, an added benefit of a stun gun is that it is ultimately harmless on several levels. First, all models come with safety features to make certain that the tool will not be activated accidentally. Second, the user will never receive a shock themselves even if they are in contact with the attacker through water or physical contact. Finally, stun guns are even safe for the attacker. Although strong enough to immobilize them, the current is not strong enough to leave permanent damage. A stun gun shock will not harm the heart or other organs, and does not create any other lasting effects.

In the realm of stun guns there are is a wide variety of products including cell phone stun guns, mini stun guns, and flashlight stun guns. Regardless of the self defense tool that you choose be sure to obtain it from a reputable dealer. The company that you purchase from should be ethical, informative, and compliant with national laws. It is also important that you educate yourself as to the local laws in your area. Although stun guns are legal in most states, all self defense tools have restrictions and limitations of use that you may need to be aware of.

Stun Guns for Women?

July 28th, 2009 admin No comments
It is a true sign of the increasing crime in most areas that there has been a sharp rise in stun guns for women. It used to be that when we thought of stun guns, we would think of something that police or military used, not women. More recently, we have heard of some private citizens who were purchasing stun guns, but usually these individuals were men who felt that stun guns were a good, non-lethal substitute for guns.

More and more we are hearing about stun guns for women. Some of these stun guns are actually designed to be smaller, fit into a woman’s hand more comfortably and even come in a variety of stylish colors.

Why the rise in stun guns for women? The answer is simple: the rise in stun guns for women correlates with the rise in crime – especially personal attacks. Therefore, more women feel the need to protect themselves. Most women want to do this effectively, without necessarily killing their attacker, but with the opportunity to get help or get away. Stun guns will do this.

A stun gun will immobilize a would-be attacker long enough for a person to get away and get assistance. It overrides the nerves and muscles by using high voltage. This will keep the attacker at bay and otherwise occupied while you get to your car or to a neighbor’s or find someone in the area and call the police.

Whether you are at the ATM, in a parking lot on the way to your car, leaving work or taking a walk or jog around the neighborhood, you can keep yourself safe.

Self-defense has come along way – as the commercial says, “You’ve come a long way, baby…” The huge variety of stun guns for women proves it.

Don’t become a statistic or a victim. Do your homework. Research the types of stun guns available.

Steel Yourself With a Stun Gun

July 1st, 2009 admin No comments
There is no shortage of danger out there in today’s world. Whether you live in small-town America or the big bad city, crime seems like a permanent fixture in society. It’s no wonder, then, that tools of self-defense have become one of fastest-growing items on people’s shopping lists. And at the top of the list, for both everyday civilians and even cops, are stun guns.

Stun guns work by zapping an attacker with a high electrical voltage. Usually, the “gun” is more of a wand, something you wield in your hand, which has two metal prongs at the end. The charge emanates from these prongs, so you’ll want to touch the bad guy with those. Then zap! watch as the stun gun immobilizes him or her.

No worries, though, on whether or not you severely harmed the attacker. Stun guns are designed to incapacitate somebody, not to kill them, so the charge that they put out has more bark than bite. Stun guns have just the right amount of bark to do the trick.

They work by completely discombobulating a person’s nervous system. As you probably learned in high school biology class, the human nervous system includes our brain, spinal cord, and nerves, and it works by passing along electrical signals from the brain to all parts of our body. It’s what helps us to speak and see, and our nervous system allows us to move our muscles at will, as well as involuntarily.

The stun gun stops all that. The energy pulse causes a person’s muscles to go practically haywire, contracting at a very high movement rate. All of this muscle activity causes the muscles to put out lactic acid. Remember the last workout or jog you had, when your muscles started to burn? That was lactic acid, which makes it hard for your muscles to do anymore work.

The electricity from the stun gun also causes a “blackout” in the whole nervous system, so the messages between the brain, spinal cord, and nerves get interrupted. The total end result from the stun gun is a person who can’t move their muscles, who loses their balance and their bearing, and remains ‘out of it’ and harmless for several minutes afterward.

Of course, like anything else, the stun gun has a different effect depending on the person it is used on. Some people may go down like a sack of potatoes after only a second of touching the stun gun, while another attacker my need five seconds of exposure to the stun gun to be incapacitated. There is a direct relationship between the time a person is exposed to the stun gun, and the effects of the stun gun. In other words, the longer you hold the stun gun to someone, the more debilitated they become. Once a person is down, and you cease and desist with the weapon, the effects will eventually wear off.

Unlike other forms of electricity, the stun gun’s power cannot be passed by touching the person being hit, or by standing in a puddle with them. That is good news for you.

When buying a stun gun, you should consider its voltage and size. Of course, if you’re carrying the stun gun in a small purse, you’ll need a small stun gun. But try to buy the highest voltage stun gun possible.
